This new Rand Steady Rest is the ideal addition to any shop. This New Steady rest is specifically designed to fit most twin bed lathes on the market. You can use to to stabilize thin turnings, chatter, and part whip. Just adjust the ball bearing guides to support your workpiece, and you are ready to go. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The features of this new Rand Universal Steady Rest include: ?Heavy-duty all cast iron and steel construction with a baked enamel finish gives you long-term durability you are looking for. ?Precision ball bearing supports. ?Fits twin bed lathes with a minimum of 1-1/2" between bed rails. This could be modified with a grinder to fit lathes with closer bed dimensions. ?Standard center height above top of beds is approximately 6-1/4". ?The included adapter block can be used to raise the steady-rest center height an additional 1-3/16". You can modify the adapter height to fit other center heights if needed. ?Fits workpiece diameters of approx. 1/8" to 3-1/4" diameters. ?Overall dimensions of steady rest frame are approx 9-3/4"H X 6-5/8"W X 2-1/8"D. ?Base size is approx 4-3/4"W X 2-1/8"D. ?Please don't ask us if we know what lathe models it fits. We have not tried it on all of the lathes out there. It is designed to be universal, and the installation dimensions are listed above.
